How cruel children can be to their parents without realizing how much they sacrifice for the happiness of their children we see in the story “My mom only had one eye” by an unknown author. A man talks about how embarrassed he was by his mother because she had just one eye. As she was working in his school, he was so concerned about everyone laughing at him that he told her one day out of anger that it would be better if she died, completely unaware how that would affect her. Years went by and he got married and had kids, but the feeling of embarrassment had not disappeared, and when his mother came to visit him, he was so harsh and chased her away for coming uninvited and disturbing his family. Then one day, he discovered his mother died. He didn’t even feel sorry. He got a letter from her. The letter said she was sorry she disturbed his family, and then she explained why she had only one eye. He had an accident when he was little which left him without one eye, so she gave him her eye because she couldn’t bear the thought that her son should go through life with just one eye. There is no sacrifice a mother wouldn’t make for their children. Never forget that, and never judge them for not living up to your standards; they give and would give everything they have for the happiness of their children.
